Specialty training classes include a variety of classes to learn more about general wellness, teaching tricks, and deeper bonding with your dog. These classes include things like Canine Good Citizen, Bring Fido, Canine Excursions, Relationship Building and Boredom Busters, Click a Trick and Pet First Aid and CPR.
Specialty Classes

For dogs 6 months and older.
This course is designed for those of you who want to attain your dog’s Canine Good Citizen Certificate. The focus of this class is on strengthening the relationship between owner and dog by increasing communication skills. Positive reinforcement techniques are applied toward Canine Good Citizen goals. Dogs learn to sit-stay, down-stay, come when called, walk on a loose leash, calmly greet a person, and calmly pass by another dog. There are 4 weeks of coursework and the 5th week will be the test.

Requirements: Dogs 6 months or older, Graduation from a Basic Obedience Class or approval by the instructor. Proof of current DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella vaccinations required.

Bring Fido is a 4-week advanced obedience course, we will teach the fundamentals of including your dog in public outings, such as teaching how to settle while you eat, loose leash walking in novel areas, and much more. This class will help build a bond between you and your dog by teaching them the appropriate manners to be included in life outside the home.

Requirements: Graduation from Advanced Obedience.

For any age dog.
Our all new canine excursion class is designed to help handlers apply all the skills we fine tuned in the intermediate obedience course to real life settings. All classes will be held at remote locations in and around the Brazos Valley and will challenge a different set of training skills each week. These locations will include local parks, shopping centers, outdoor cafes, restaurants, wineries, and art studios. It is also a fun and exciting way to do new things with your dog and hang out with fellow dog enthusiasts. Each excursion will have a different minimum and maximum number of participants depending on the venue, so please register online ahead of time for each excursion you plan to attend so we may prepare local business owners for our arrival.
Excursions may be purchased individually or as a package. Any additional charges incurred at the event will be the responsibility of the handler.

Trick training for your dog is an excellent way to channel your dog’s energy and engage their mind. You will discover your dog’s hidden talents and unlock more of your dog’s personality through motivation building, guidance and love. This class is a great introduction into trick training and will cover various topics. *This class is a prerequisite for our Service Dog 101 and Service Dog 201 classes*

In this class, we will cover how to properly prepare a pet First Aid Kit for various situations, assess your pet’s vitals, recognize cardiovascular and respiratory emergencies, give CPR, properly address bleeding/shock management and many other important things! Become COMPETENT and CONFIDENT in the face of an emergency- the next pet who needs your help might very well be your own!

K9 Fit Walk/Run is a FREE group class geared to promoting active, healthy lifestyles for you and your pet. Walking has many benefits for you and your pet. We will meet at Waggie Pet Zone in the Lobby, we will follow a posted route! There will be the option to either run or walk with your pet! Feel free to bring family and friends, we do ask that one pet per person. All dogs MUST be on a leash, no exceptions and no retractable leashes at this time.
