Obedience classes are designed to teach dogs basic commands and teach handlers how to effectively communicate with their dogs. Some common commands taught and built on in these classes include sit, stay, come, and heel. They also provide an opportunity for dogs to learn to work around other dogs and people in a safe and controlled environment. Obedience training classes can help strengthen the bond between a dog and its owner while promoting good behavior.
